Military Salute

Refinery 29 is a great site for compiling thoughtful fashion ideas that are clear and attainable for the every day consumer. I especially loved their last entry about ways to spice up military jackets, a huge trend on all of the runways this season, from Paris to Milan and New York. What I appreciate is that this style can be as overt or as subtle as possible. Inspiration can come from the green military color depicted in dressy fabric or the cargo pant inspired slacks that are form fitting, butty-hugging perfect. I have already purchased a few pieces with this look in mind and even found an age-appropriate version of the traditional military coat for my 5 year old. Though we won't be in full on uniform this spring, we will have a touch of regalia and formality worthy of a salute or head nod.
