I have come to appreciate the rock and roll aesthetic in my old age. While I have a deep appreciation for rock music, I never imagined I would look good in any of the clothing associated with edgy, hard core, electric guitar type girls who drink Jack Daniels straight and smoke. I am definitely edgy, at times, with a dash of prep and hippie depending on the day. However, as trends should have it, the rock and roll look as developed some polish to it. I like the idea that a beautiful silk blouse can accompany tight leather pants and booties. I love that the edge can come from accessories alone even when you wear jeans and a white tee. The rock and roll girl is much more nuanced these days and I like it.
