The color story and progression in Lanvin's Fall 2010 line is remarkable. There is a stern efficiency to Elbaz's pieces that is solemn and beautiful all at once. The colors seep into something mythical and captivate the audience with a careful aggression. The clothing addresses the age old fashion conflict of interest; women want to be graceful, elegant and pretty while being edgy and strong. The stitching and embroidery on seemingly simple garments adds an awesome touch of detail that brought each piece to life. The necklaces and belts alone show incredible styling and panache. Similarly, the shoes are decadent and dazzling. I was struck and awe-inspired by this creative, stunning, near flawless performance.
