Aquascutum, London Fashion Week

Founded in 1853, this British outerwear company aptly Aquascutum, whose cutting edge, fashion forward perspective has shaped generations of artists, launched their Fall 2010 line during London's Fashion week. Historically, the company's charge was to "solve the perennial fashion problem of how to look elegant in the hustle and bustle of city life." What I appreciate the most is that, whether looking at vintage photos or current images from 2010, Aquascutum's designs offer a flawless simplicity that is noteworthy and deliberate. Pieces are rooted in the notion of effortless elegance and functionality. Though I am not often a fan of long skirts, and there are too many on the runway this season for my taste, I fell deeply in love with the long camel colored coat and the similarly divine black dress. As we claw our way through the cold, rain and snow, there is nothing more refreshing than feeling beautiful and warm all at the same time. And I think Aquascutum has the perfect prescription for the Winter blues.
